Laura Vaughn is a founder of Sitting in a Tree, a design-focused company delivering premium wedding website themes & other wedding communication tools that streamline the planning process. Laura is equal parts curious, tactical and outgoing. Her career experience has centered around creating new ways for companies to acquire customers, ranging from tiny startups to large companies.

Ryan Vaughn is the co-founder and CEO of Varsity News Network, the ESPN.com for high schools. Prior to VNN, Ryan founded West Michigan Allstar, which was at its peak the most visited high school sports website in West Michigan. Ryan is a graduate of Western Michigan University, and received his Masters in Communication at GVSU. Ryan also founded and scaled an Internet Sales Department to become a major profit center for a major automotive group.

  • Attendees vote for the top ideas
  • Teams start forming and discussing ideas
  • Break off to a bar or coffee shop to continue the discussion and attempt to paper prototype out their application

Saturday

Jan 19
  • Arrive, simple breakfast & coffee
  • Lunch w/ speaker
  • Continue working
  • Dinner
  • Mid weekend check-in, status reports, call for help
  • Finished for the day. You may stay and work as late as the venue will allow

Sunday

Jan 20

  • Call for help (this is self motivated, so don’t be shy)
  • Lunch w/ speaker
  • FINAL PRESENTATIONS
  • Judging & awards
  • Cleanup with everyone's help
